While it is renowned for its Master of Business Administration (MBA) and business-related degrees, MANCOSA has significantly expanded its curriculum to include undergraduate and postgraduate programs in information technology, public administration, and commerce.

Job Description:

The Transcendance Group (TTG) invites applications for a Cybersecurity Learnership Opportunity designed for unemployed youth seeking to enter the high-demand ICT and cybersecurity sector.

This is a structured, accredited learnership programme, not a traditional job placement, combining:

  • Formal theoretical training
  • Practical workplace experience
  • Real-world exposure to cybersecurity environments

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in structured cybersecurity training modules
  • Assist with basic cybersecurity monitoring and reporting
  • Support IT security processes and compliance activities
  • Conduct basic vulnerability checks and system reviews
  • Assist in incident reporting and documentation
  • Participate in workplace-based projects and tasks
  • Maintain learning logs and portfolio of evidence

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 / Matric (minimum requirement)
  • Basic computer literacy (essential)
  • Qualification or exposure in IT (advantageous but not required)
  • Strong interest in cybersecurity and digital technologies

Competencies:

  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving
  • Attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn and adapt
  • Basic digital and technical aptitude
  • Communication and teamwork skills
  • Professional discipline and accountability

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be currently unemployed
  • Aged between 18 – 35 years
  • South African citizen
  • Residing in the Western Cape (preferred)
  • Willingness to commit to the full learnership duration
  • Availability for both training and workplace components

What to have:

  • Basic understanding of IT systems or networks
  • Prior exposure to coding, networking, or cybersecurity concepts
  • Interest in ethical hacking, data protection, or digital systems
  • Participation in previous digital skills programmes

Who should apply:

  • Unemployed Youth: You must be a South African citizen between the ages of 18 and 35 who is currently not employed.
  • Educational Foundation: A minimum of a Grade 12 (Matric) certificate is required. While an IT qualification is a plus, it is not a prerequisite as long as you have basic computer literacy.
  • Geographic Location: Preference is given to those residing in the Western Cape, specifically within commuting distance of Cape Town, as the program uses a hybrid model involving classroom and on-site workplace learning.
  • Tech-Focused Mindset: If you have a genuine curiosity about ethical hacking, data protection, and digital networks—or if you have previously participated in digital skills programs—this is a strong fit for you.
  • Career Seekers: This is for candidates looking for a direct pathway into employment. Since high-performing learners are prioritized for permanent job openings at TTG or its partners upon completion, applicants should be ready to commit to a 12-month professional development journey.
